We were fortunate enough to view the madness and creativity firsthand behind the scenes at Libertine with CND. The look was graphic, bold, and bright. The inspiration for the collection was a graffiti artist turned visual artist, Blinky Palermo. Jan Arnold, Founder and Style Director of CND, shares with us the inspiration for the nails, the products used, and the relationship between CND and Johnson Hartig, designer of Libertine. (Apologies for the sound, there were many hairdryers and fans going backstage!)
The looks were created with Shellac, Vinylux, CND Additives, striping tape, AthenA Rocks mini pennnies, micro-mirror pieces (from the designer himself,) and transfer foil. These bright, graphic patterned nails seemed to follow a trend we saw across other designers’ runways; brights for Spring. We LOVE these nails, as they are easily translated from the runway to reality, and are accessible for salon clients.
BACKSTAGE AT LIBERTINE WITH CND
CND creative team Heather Davis and John Nguyen shared some behind the scenes knowledge about what it takes to create a nail look from concept to execution. Heather Davis lead the CND Design Lab team to bring the final look to life. Watch and learn what goes into this long and challenging process.
A huge THANK YOU to CND, and RPR for granting us backstage access.
